Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A rare & spectacular California native annual, with striking, inflated, lime green stems. The terminal tips & buds are dark purple, & the small flower petals are bi-colored purple & white. Needs good drainage (NO CLAY), & is nice in containers. Grows up to 2' tall, but very narrow. We have these plants only in the very coolest part of the Spring, as once they start feeling the heat, they will quickly bolt. Plant them as early as you can!
