Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The Tiger-Snake Vine (or Black Coral Pea for the squeamish) is a powerhouse plant that will quickly cover that ugly chainlink fence or provide a solid ground cover if left to ramble at lower altitudes. The flowers are super contrasty and grow in clusters in the Spring to mid Summer in our area. It’s a bit sensitive to frost so keep that in mind before placing it out in the garden. More importantly, give it room to spread out.
A must for the goth garden, or if you’ve always wanted a true black flowering plant, this native Australian climber loves hot, dry climates & bears fascinating good-sized 1-1/2” long black pea flowers with yellow patches Spring thru Summer. Quick growing in a warm sunny spot, it can reach 20’ tall & wide, so give it room. It makes an unusual groundcover or twining trellis subject. The attractive leaflets are 5” long & evergreen. Rarely offered in 4” pots, so get ‘em while they’re hot!
