Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Dramatic in flower, this tough, drought tolerant, native grass of the Texas hill country is actually a member of the Yucca family. To 3’ tall with a spread of 3’, it makes a clump of soft & graceful, blue-green, flat bladed foliage. In early Summer, “Devil’s Shoestring” forms panicles to 3’ tall made up of thousands of small, white blossoms followed by showy chartreuse seed pods which remain on the upright spikes till Fall. A good choice for rocky hillsides, as it will thrive on the thinnest of soils.
