Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Called aromatic aster for the scent of its crushed foliage, typical lavender aster flowers in late summer and fall. ZONE 4
Tolerant of clay, dry, rocky or sandy soil & coastal conditions. This super showy & low growing bushy, robust perennial is also valuable for being just about the last Aster to bloom in fall. Bursting into a mass of bloom in August till Oct-Nov, “Aromatic Aster” bears hundreds of 1 1/4” lavender blue daisies with yellow centers on slender stems and has aromatic leaves. Even before it blooms you’ll enjoy the attractive dense gray-green foliar mound it presents in the garden all Summer long. Like most perennial Asters, its also is an excellent habitat plant, highly attractive to butterflies, bees, caterpillars, moths & birds. Excellent cut flowers too! Cut back in early summer for a more compact plant. Cut back after bloom as well.
