Fully double, elegant, lotus-like flowers open a soft clear-yellow before aging to deep-gold (sometimes touched with red). The blossoms rise over one to two foot clumps of handsome deep-green foliage, blooming very early in the year. They are a cheerful reminder that spring always comes! An exquisite strain of Hellebore, with double pale yellow blossoms, sometimes accented with rosy red highlights, from breeder Marietta O'Byrne. 15-18" tall, 18" wide. Hellebores are happiest in well drained soil in partial shade. Protect from drying winter winds with evergreen boughs, and cut back the last year's foliage in late winter /early spring, as soon as buds begin to appear.
