Are wonderful deep golden yellow double hellebores that will mostly be unspotted. Most of the plants will bloom this year.
Fully double, elegant, lotus-like flowers open a soft clear-yellow before aging to deep-gold (sometimes touched with red). The blossoms rise over one to two foot clumps of handsome deep-green foliage, blooming very early in the year. They are a cheerful reminder that spring always comes! These are a wonderful, low-maintenance perennial that the deer do not touch. A winner! PSh-Sh/M PPAF
An exquisite strain of Hellebore, with double pale yellow blossoms, sometimes accented with rosy red highlights, from breeder Marietta O'Byrne. 15-18" tall, 18" wide. Hellebores are happiest in well drained soil in partial shade. Protect from drying winter winds with evergreen boughs, and cut back the last year's foliage in late winter /early spring, as soon as buds begin to appear.
Winter Jewels™ hellebores are from a hand-selected seed strain, thus each plant produces a slightly different flower. 'Golden Lotus' has superb lotus form with various and delicate rose highlights. Deep green leathery palmate leaves add interest to the winter garden. Handles drought conditions, once established. Deer resistant. Plant 18" to 20" apart.
Charming, golden, lotus-like flowers. Many of these double yellows will have red edges and some will have red streaking on the backs, as well. One of the world's top hybridizers, Marietta O'Byrne has created this wonderful Winter Jewels™ Strain. A delight in the winter garden. Shade and deer resistant!
