Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This wonderful variety has gorgeous amethyst-violet, double flowers and some petals are edged with a lovely cream to pink picotee. As with almost all Hellebores, the exact coloring will vary, each plant is unique! The evergreen clumps of leathery deep-green 12-18" foliage look good year round and the early spring blooms are a knock out. Deer resistant and low-maintenance, this cultivar was named the Perennial Plant of the Year in 2005. PSH-S/M
Rich purple double flowers with light lavender margins. These come from Northwest Garden Nursery, Eugene. OR. Marietta and Ernie O'Byrne have the most exiting hybrids of any we've seen. All of these hybrids are vibrant colors and it's exciting to see what new seedlings produce each spring. Northwest Garden Nursery doesn't ship their hybrids and they are only open 2 weekends per year, so it's your chance to get some of these beautiful perennials from our catalog. Please see their web site for pictures. (www.northwestgardennursery.com). All the named hellebores come directly as plants from Ernie and Marietta. It's really difficult to sell any of these gorgeous plants; they are so beautiful, we want to keep all of them.
This exciting strain has warm purple, double flowers in which each petal is edged with an amethyst picotee. A spectactular and unique addition to hellebores. This gorgeous hellebore strain comes from the Winter Jewels Series bred by Marietta O'Byrne, one of the best hellebore breeders in the world. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant. Perennial Plant of the Year 2005.
Another addition to the O'Byrne jewel box of Hellebores; now world renown for their exquisite breeding, Amethyst Gem has exciting amethyst-rose double flowers, lasting many weeks in the winter and early spring. Amethyst flowers margined in opal are amazing.
