It is easy to see why the RHS granted this plant the Award of Garden Merit in 2006! Its dusky foliage is thick and fleshy, contrasting beautifully with the large, dense flower heads of tiny star-like flowers that start out bicolored pink, and mature a rich mauve. Plants are upright and compact, and may be left intact after flowers are spent for winter interest. S/M-DGDr PP17671
This sedum hybrid has tight foliage and strongly contrasting colours between its light buds and dark mauve flowers. Its strongly upright habit and short stature make it a winner that stands up tall and straight! Partly for this reason it was given an Award of Garden Merit from the UK-based Royal Horticultural Society.
Bathed with opulent reddish purple hues and shouldered by swarthy stems that won't flop, its impressive broad domed heads earned this highly sought after Sedum the coveted AGM award. 'Mr. Goodbud' is definitely handsome, sporting a tailored, well-branched, bushy and compact habit clad in pearly green succulent leaves. Spirited bicolored contrast is created when green buds initially reveal creamy toned petals, which quickly transmute vivid deeper shades. (pp#17,671)
This dusky S. spectabile hybrid has tight foliage and strongly contrasting colors between its light buds and dark mauve flowers. Richer tones and better foliage than S. 'Brilliant'. Upright habit and short stature. Won an Award of Garden Merit from the RHS in 2006.
