Zn 4. Vigorous clumping with amber foliage.
Clump-forming perennial with a mound of russet to amber, deeply lobed foliage. Red brown flowers rise above the foliage mound on slender stems in late spring to early summer.
'Marmalade' has rich, shiny, undulating foliage ranging in colour from umber to deep sienna with hot pink undersides. This vigorous plant has heavy substance and numerous, narrow spires of red-brown flowers making it a good landscape choice. A member of the Marmalade Series which features 'Berry Marmalade', 'Marmalade', 'Lime Marmalade' and 'Ginger Peach'.
Pretty much THE best bet if you want to find a golden leaved Heuchera that can take the heat! I grew this one in a pot in full sun (inland, even) for years & found it to be extremely resilient. It very rarely shows any signs of stress, even when the weather becomes ridiculously hot & the leaves are ruffled, which gives you a sneak peak at the hot pink undersides. Saucy! It's a boldly colored Heuchera, with leaves in rich shades of peach & pink. New growth is more vividly hued, as are the flowering stems, which make an appearance in late Spring. Naturally, the plant tolerated shade as well. Dry shade is even acceptable, once the plants are established. Grows to 1.5’ wide, with 1’ tall foliage & 2’ blooming stems.
Marmalade' stands out with its rich, shiny, undulating foliage ranging in color from umber to deep sienna. Showy in all seasons, this vigorous plant has heavy substance standing up to inclement weather. A great landscape choice which performs well in both sun and shade.
