Woolly, Tom Thumb-like and cozy-looking, the aromatic silver-green leaves form a tight nearly prostate mat tough enough to handle foot traffic. This versatile pink flowering Thyme can creep between steps and patio stones or cushion hard edges in the garden, as well as spice up culinary dishes and impart medicinal properties.
Woolly thyme is one of the best groundcover thymes in our climate. Easy to grow and vigorous, it is perfect amidst stepping stones where it can be walked on, as a groundcover in full sun and it will trail up to two feet down the edge of a wall, container or hanging basket. Pink flowers. Attractive to bees.
Beautifully textured groundcover that demands touching. Forms an undulating mat to 2" high with stems holding small, gray leaves covered with dense wooly hairs. Pink flowers are seldom seen. Useful in rock crevices, between stepping stones, or spilling out of a raised bed. Best in well-drained soils with good air circulation. Hardy to below 0F. Garden origin.
Wooly Thyme is low and spreading working well for thyme 'lawns' or nooks and crannies between pavers.
