Nursery contributed plant descriptions

(CELANDINE POPPY) Va-va-voom woodland wildflower from eastern U.S.! Handsome deeply lobed blue-green foliage mounds 2’ high and wide are topped with clusters of 2” bright yellow flowers in spring, often reblooming sporadically through the summer. Part shade to shade, humusy soil, moist to wet (will take dry shade but goes dormant when dry). Reseeds where happy. USDA Z4
Stylophorum diphyllum has bright yellow poppy-like flowers that bloom in early spring over blue-green foliage with silvery undersides. Will self-seed and form a great shade groundcover. Will grow in all but the driest conditions in shade and part shade. The stems contain bright yellow sap that was used traditionally as a dye by aboriginal peoples.
If the conditions are right here's a plant that will be happy to naturalize in your shady garden. This cheerful Missouri native ushers in mid-late spring with 4 petaled golden yellow poppies. Happiest in a moist shady spot, it is famous for self sowing, and can thus develop into nice ground covering colonies. Grows 12-18” tall and 12” wide.
A poppy relative, this one thrives in woodland conditions and rewards you with bright, floating yellow cups that illuminate the shade! It grows about 18 inches tall and tolerates drought, slowly colonizing much to everyone's delight. Minimum temperature: -30°F
Brimming with charm, this showy undemanding wildflower is a sterling choice for naturalizing in a moist, lightly shaded locale. Paired and gray below, the blue-green Oak-like leaves and silver-haired, green nodding buds foster a wealth of 2 in. wide, golden yellow poppy-styled blossoms atop 12 to 18 in. stems. Native to the eastern United States, the esteemed Celadine Poppy forms a long-lived, versatile leafy colony that may go summer dormant under dry conditions. It easily adapts to the shadows of a woodland or a more formal garden border, mingling amidst Asarum, finely cut Dicentra and Tiarella, while curious saffron-colored sap and fuzzy, 4-parted seed pods add intrigue.
Large mounds of handsome deeply cut leaves; with 2" single yellow poppies on delicate stems produced in succession throughout the summer, unlike its Asian counterpart diphyllum is not weedy.
An engaging perennial member of the poppy family, from woodlands of the eastern USA. Bright, sunshine yellow, four petalled poppy-like flowers burst forth from fat, hairy buds, elegantly suspended over fresh mounds of deeply lobed, glaucous leaves, from Spring to Autumn. An easy and adaptable plant, whilst water and good soil will be rewarded with lush growth and plentiful flowers, it will thrive in just about any soil and happily ride out the occasional dry spell. Winter dormant. Should self seed where content. Light up that drab shady area.

The spring sun of the still-leafless eastern deciduous forest produces the gay yellow 2" poppies of this 1' wildflower; they're followed quickly by hairy seed pods before retiring for the season; not weedy. PSh/Med
