Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Special horizontal form of the magnificent Coast Redwood, about 2’ tall spreading eventually to 8’ wide. Evergreen, flattened, wide-ish needles creates an appealing texture in sun to half-shade, well-drained soil, regular water (some drought when established). Verticillium resistant.
This came to us originally from Siskiyou and it has proven difficult to root, it is not quite as flat growing as Kelley's with succulent short fleshy needles. It winters for Harry Elkins in Detroit.
One of the most remarkable dwarf conifers. It has spreading branches clothed with comparatively broad, gray-green leaves. It should be trained to a vertical leader in its formative years, and then allowed to grow out in horizontal layers. Best in a sheltered position – against a wall or large rocks.

Wide gray-green needles and a wide, spreading habit make this selection special. Growth to 2 ft tall & 8 ft wide. Trim out any leaders that pop up.
