Greyish green foliage with cream and purplish pink edges. The purple flowers are rare but the foliage with its striking colours are great for the garden as well as the kitchen and table.
A low, shrubby, evergreen perennial. Pointed, elliptical, felty leaves, with irregular pink and white edges on them, are held in pairs, on supple, square stems. During Summer branching spikes of lilac-blue flowers are produced. Can be used in cooking like ordinary S. officianalis.
