Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of the cutest bulb plants to grow with lots of flat "center-less" flowers, 1" across and 6 petals each. Needs well drained soil. However, ours survived 7 °F in a spot that I wouldn't call well drained (water puddles close up to it in rain) without protection. In colder regions they can be grown easily in pots, which can be overwintered in a cool, dry room.
Tufts of narrow, hairy, lance-shaped leaves, 2-3" long that are nearly hidden by masses of 1" white, pink or rose-red flowers blooming over a long season. Tubers multiply quickly with good drainage and adequate water. Full sun and regular water. Completely dormant in winter.
From the Drakensberg Mountains of Southern Africa these little jewels like gritty soil with some summer water. Pink flowers on 4 inch stems.
