Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Lungwort is easy to grow in partly shaded places with spring moisture. Blue Ensign forms a slowly expanding clump, about 10″ tall and 18-20″ wide; the flowers start early in the spring and are electric blue, blooming for several weeks! Deer and critter resistant, most soils. For best foliage appearance, cut back hard after flowering for a fresh flush of leaves.
On the market for a while but still a dandy specimen for the spring garden because of its flared brilliant blue flowers, an intense lapis-blue as is found in few other flowers. Dark green, fuzzy leaves, evergreen. 12"T x 15W" Minimum temperature: -20 °F
Bright Blue flowers, unmarked dark green leaves.

Deep, deep blue flowers make this variety a total stand-out. The leaves are dark green and un-marked. Does best in humus-rich, moist soil.
