Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Another long-lived, clumping juliana type with velvety, deep magenta-red flowers.
Primula 'Jay Jay' has vivid dark crimson flowers on a compact little plant. Blooms in April/May. The Juliana hybrids are a hardy and free-flowering group of primroses, produced by crossing P. juliae and P. vulgaris. Culture: Grow in light shade and a fertile well-watered soil. In cool climates, full sun is acceptable if the soil is moist. If too hot and dry, the plants will yellow and go dormant over summer, but usually leaf out again in fall. Best suited to northern climates, it could well be difficult for southern and western gardeners to keep them happy. Propagate by division after flowering.
One of the most intensely colored Wanda type Primroses out there. This is all to seldom available and the rich color sets it apart from all others. Tolerates full sun if given enough water but looks better given some relief from afternoon sun.
Tiny 3 inch tall rosettes produce glowing magenta flowers with a red eye. When the going gets tough, it goes dormant only to return in late winter.
