Exquisite rare perennial from the Andes in Chile…small, toothed, bright green leaves form a rhizomatous mat in cool, moist, partly shaded places. From May to September, 6-9" stems arise topped with nodding scarlet tubular flowers! Seems to prefer well drained, humus enriched soil and acidic, peaty soil with regular moisture. SWEET!
A member of the foxglove family that decided to settle down in the Chilean Andes, this evergreen perennial forms a lovely mat of glossy green leaves that is topped by clusters of tubular scarlet flowers on spikes that reach to a foot high. Loves cool, moist, shady areas. Good in shady rock gardens and in containers. Hardy to 5 °F or lower. USDA zone 7.
Small mounds of bright green cordate foliage and scarlet red flowers produced in small nodding terminal racemes throughout the summer. Prefers moisture. Full sun in cool climates only, otherwise part shade. From Chile and the Andes.

A rare member of the Scrophulariaceae from the Chilean Andes. This has done great in our shade garden where the shade, moist but well drained soil and tasty helpings of dairy manure really help. Evergreen leaves except if real cold and red tubular flowers on up to 18" stems in early summer.
From cool, moist but well drained soils of Chile this creeping evergreen with eye-popping vermillion tubular flowers on 8 inch stems is a treasure.
