Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This delightfully compact columnar tree can fit anywhere! Growing to only 8-10' tall and 3' wide, this little tree is perfect for large containers, patios or side yards. With pretty pink buds opening to white spring flowers, it also produces an abundant crop of closely spaced large, delicious, yellow fruit with a red blush. Needs a partner for pollination, a crabapple or Golden Sentinel? will work well; 800 chill hours required. S/M
The Sentinel Apples are an exciting new type of dwarf trees that produce very short side branches that are covered in fruit, even on young plants. The trees typically grow only a foot in diameter and up to six or eight feet tall and are perfect for growing in containers on your patio or in narrow spots in your yard.
We offer two varieties, 'Golden Sentinel' produces golden yellow fruit and 'Scarlet Sentinel' produces green fruit blushed with scarlet red. Both varieties have crisp white flesh that rival Red Delicious apples for sweetness.

These varieties are not self pollinating and will need at least one other variety of fruiting apple to be planted nearby. The different Sentinel varieties will pollinate each other so if you don't have any other apple trees nearby you should order one of each. Both varieties can be found here: Sentinel Apple.

Especially good in containers, this columbar apple has large greenish-yellow and red apples that are very crisp and juicy with white flesh. Ripens in late September. Disease resistant. Requires pollinizer. Growth Rate medium
Large, greenish-yellow & red fruit late-Sept. Good in containers. Requires pollinator. USDA zones 4-9
Most compact of the columnar group with jumbo sweet juicy white fleshed fruit. Does well in a large container.
