Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This superb columnar pole apple growing to only 8-12' tall and 3' wide produces a striking display of bright-pink buds which open to white flowers in spring followed by full size golden apples growing up the center stem: sweet, juicy and delicious; a disease resistant and productive apple tree in a size that will fit into any garden; requires another apple or crabapple for pollination. S/M
The Sentinel Apples are an exciting new type of dwarf trees that produce very short side branches that are covered in fruit, even on young plants. The trees typically grow only a foot in diameter and up to six or eight feet tall and are perfect for growing in containers on your patio or in narrow spots in your yard.
We offer two varieties, 'Golden Sentinel' produces golden yellow fruit and 'Scarlet Sentinel' produces green fruit blushed with scarlet red. Both varieties have crisp white flesh that rival Red Delicious apples for sweetness.

These varieties are not self pollinating and will need at least one other variety of fruiting apple to be planted nearby. The different Sentinel varieties will pollinate each other so if you don't have any other apple trees nearby you should order one of each. Both varieties can be found here: Sentinel Apple.
