This beautiful perennial comes from Korea. This shade lover has light green leaves that are somewhat like maple leaves. In August, the plants will cover themselves with thickened yellow shuttlecock like flowers.

Much discussion in the horticulture world over the classification of this lovely. Some say it's a subspecies of K. palmatum, others, particularly in Europe list it as K. palmatum Koreana Group. Whatever the name (we go along with MOBOT), it's as above but occasionally somewhat larger with more outfacing blooms rather than hanging blooms. Both this and the above are just lovely -- it's more a matter of taste -- hanging or outfacing blooms and possibly size.
