Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Recently introduced from Korea, this valuable shade-garden accent has upright (rather than nodding) fall-blooming flowers and large maple-like leaves on 3' stalks which form a multi-stemmed bushy clump. PSh-Sh/M (not dry)
This beautiful perennial comes from Korea. This shade lover has light green leaves that are somewhat like maple leaves. In August, the plants will cover themselves with thickened yellow shuttlecock like flowers.
Much discussion in the horticulture world over the classification of this lovely. Some say it's a subspecies of K. palmatum, others, particularly in Europe list it as K. palmatum Koreana Group. Whatever the name (we go along with MOBOT), it's as above but occasionally somewhat larger with more outfacing blooms rather than hanging blooms. Both this and the above are just lovely -- it's more a matter of taste -- hanging or outfacing blooms and possibly size.

A tall stately herbaceous plant from the Hydrangea family for the shade garden with wonderful serrated maple-like leaves and elegant creamy yellow bell flowers in summer and fall. A must for the woodland and shade gardens especially since it offers a tall vertical element that is less available from other shade denizens. Looks great with ferns, cobralilies and hydrangeas.
Larger than the species at 4-5' tall and 3' wide…upright clump with lush, softly palmate leaves that are slightly fuzzy. Lemon yellow, pendulous blooms that appear carved out of wax dangle from stems in late summer, early fall a week or two earlier than the species. Needs rich, humusy, organic soil, plenty of moisture during the growing season and a part shade location. An exotic looking perennial with the presence of a shrub!
Up facing soft yellow flowers in late summer to fall. Maple-like leaves. Clump forming herbaceous perennial 30" tall. Best with moist rich soil.
