Limelight Hydrangea is a fantastic cold hardy paniculata hydrangea. The large, football sized blooms are a refreshing lime green color that change to burgundy red in the fall. This long season blooming and award winning hydrangea has a place in every landscape. It can be used as a specimen plant as easily as it can function as a dense flowering hedge. The blooms of Limelight Hydrangea make excellent cut flowers and can be used fresh or dried. Paniculata hydrangeas are not affected by late frosts and will give you blooms every year.
NEW and DIFFERENT, this extraordinary new Hydrangea freely produces its exquisite and eye-catching bright lime-green flowers in late summer; enjoy it in a container or the shrub border as a 6-8' shrub. PSh/M (not dry)
Deciduous, upright, somewhat spreading shrub. Blooms initially emerge white, turn to lime green until the fall and finally change to pink. Blooms are around from July into September. Blooms on current season's growth, so should be pruned in winter or early spring. Growth Rate fast
An amazing and unusual color selection bringing a huge splash of color to the summer landscape. Masses of the 8"+ dome-shaped lime-green flower panicles are borne in summer. A University of Georgia Gold Medal Winner as well as the Winner of the 2008 Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticulture Society. The propagation of, and/or the sale of plant parts is prohibited without a license. PeeGee or Panicle Hydrangeas will do well in almost any well-drained garden soil but will beneft from a good quality mulch and from the addition of humus in poor soils. They seem to be adaptable as far as pH is concerned and are considered by many to be salt tolerant. The PeeGee Hydrangea flowers on new growth and so can be pruned in winter or early spring and can even be cut back to within 6" of the ground annually. Average moisture is best.
A true standout of the paniculata family. This wonderful cultivar starts out like other paniculata hydrangea with creamy white blossoms but quickly age to chartuese green. Blooms are full and robust and can be cut for vases. Or, wait until petals age pink as they dry on the bush. Don't miss this one! Proven Winner designation is well deserved.
Vigorous and upright but smaller than the other paniculatas growing to just four feet. Sports enormous showy, somewhat conical balls of lime green (that often first emerge white). These flowers may develop some pink tones as they age. Excellent for drier areas. Don't forget to cut some for a dried flower display in autumn. Usefull in containers.
An awe-inspiring beauty whose blooms first open in creamy white elegance, transition to lime-green until fall, and finally turn deep pink, this vigorous Dutch cultivar deserves to be in the limelight. Strong, upright stems cloaked with handsome greenery shoulder the elegant, cone-shaped trusses, which impart a crisp, refreshing sophistication to the shrubby border or a bouquet.
Large conical blooms open greenish-white, fade to pink. Regular water. Prune after bloom. Zones 3-8.
Pale lime green flowers blend beautifully with almost any color scheme which is why this selection of panicle Hydrangea has become deservedly popular for the interest it gives to the late summer garden. Very hardy. 6-8'. 1 gallon pots
(ppaf) - Hybridized by the great Dutch nurseryman Pieter Zwijnenburg, Jr. This hydrangea paniculata has lime green flowers on a large shrub. This new plant is a real show stopper in the garden. H. 'Limelight' will also make a good cut flower.
Copious quantities of bright, lime green flowers cover this lovely robust shrub in late summer. Excellent shrub to lighten up a partially shaded area.
