Hacquetia epipactis is a broadleaf deciduous perennial groundcover with green foliage. In spring and winter chartreuse and yellow flowers emerge. Grows well with sun - shade and even moisture - regular water. Drought tolerant once established. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil.

Forming pretty mounds, small yellow glowing flowers with bright green rounded bracts grace the woodland garden in late winter (early spring). The bracts remain long after the flower proper is gone, looking like green flowers - a long bang for your buck. Unusual and delightful; this is not just any cute face! 4" tall and ever-so-slowly spreading to a pleasing 10" wide or wider. Coming from woodlands of the European Alps, it's every bit as interesting as edelweiss. Minimum temperature: -20°F

This tiny ground cover has grown to 18” wide after 15-20 years in our garden. The 2” tall mat of dark green leaves make a background for the ½’ wide chartreuse flowers. A rarely offered, interesting perennial.
