Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Forming pretty mounds, small yellow glowing flowers with bright green rounded bracts grace the woodland garden in late winter (early spring). The bracts remain long after the flower proper is gone, looking like green flowers - a long bang for your buck. Unusual and delightful; this is not just any cute face! 4" tall and ever-so-slowly spreading to a pleasing 10" wide or wider. Coming from woodlands of the European Alps, it's every bit as interesting as edelweiss. Minimum temperature: -20°F
This tiny ground cover has grown to 18” wide after 15-20 years in our garden. The 2” tall mat of dark green leaves make a background for the ½’ wide chartreuse flowers. A rarely offered, interesting perennial.
There ain't nuthin' like this. Early spring yellow stars followed by leathery lobed green leaves in a dense low mound. It is the early yellow flowers that steal the show in part because they have so little competition and in part because they are so unique.
