    Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Greek for "wool-bearing," this Eriophorum is native to the Cascade Mountains and thrives in moist soil. Its downy-tufted white spikes are at home near the water and it will get very sulky if put in a dry situation. Evergreen; 10 inches tall and spreading; blooms April - June. Sorry, grasses and sedges cannot be shipped to California. Minimum temperature: -30°F
