Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Has soft lavender flowers on 6-8” plants.
Zn 5. Lilac flowers. Heart shaped bronze leaves.
Deep purple sepals with pale petals make this a very enchanting and graceful selection; long-spurred flowers and toothed oval leaflets grow to about 1' tall. Spring bloom. Deciduous, clumping. Minimum temperature: -20°F
Spidery lavender-violet flowers with very long white spurs. The medium green, deciduous leaves have spiny-toothed, oval leaflets on wiry stems and form an attractive foliage mound. New leaves in spring emerge beige with a red tinge, mature to green and turn red in fall. Epimediums are among the easiest perennials to grow. They thrive in medium to heavy shade, and when established, are highly drought tolerant. They are deer resistant and are seldom bothered by voles or other critters.
What a great plant! Since its introduction by famed German plant breeder Ernst Pagels, 'Lilafee' ('Lilac Fairy' in English) has become one of the most popular epimediums, and with just cause. Since many epimediums tend to hide their flowers within or under the foliage, 'Lilafee's long-spurred, amethyst purple flowers held well above the emerging foliage are a key improvement. New foliage has a strong bronze- red tinge, turns green for the summer and then back to bronzy-red in fall. Epimediums are a great choice for low maintenance gardens and beginners. They're easy to grow. Just trim off the old foliage in early spring before flowers appear in mid to late spring and enjoy! 'Lilafee' is a clump former which spreads by underground rhizomes. Since it's tolerant of dry shade it can be used as a groundcover, for erosion control, in shady rock gardens, edgings and plantings under mature trees.

Lilafee' is a delicate delight as a ground cover. Its loose, tall sprays of elegant, long-spurred, lavender violet blossoms rise from a bed of vigorous oval-shaped foliage, purply bronze when new, and bright green as it matures. A carpet of 'Lilafee' under a Cercidiphyllum will echo its coloration.
Curiously twisted lavender violet flowers on wiry stems, the combination of very large flowers and almost non-running compact foliage make it a favorite of mine. Epimedium grandiflorum 'Lilofee' - ZONE 4
[Syn. 'Lilac Fairy'] Same flower shape as species with masses of violet-purple flowers. New leaves are purple tinted, Fall colors are a blend of crimson to dark purple, rather colorful. Great for dry shade. Well drained soil.

In the spring, purple new growth is topped with violet/purple flowers. A vigorous variety that flowers freely and forms a compact mound. Zonees 5-9.
