    Dodecatheon pulchellum is a broadleaf deciduous perennial bulb / corm / tuber with green foliage. In spring and summer magenta, pink and purple flowers emerge followed by brown fruit. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and even moisture water. Drought tolerant once established. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average, gritty, rich and well-drained soil.

    One of the glories of the western US as far as we are concerned but we are pretty much sold on the entire genus. Have yet to meet a Dodecatheon we haven't liked. This is easier than some and makes nice clumps with many flowers which add so much to spring.
