(AKA DACTYLICAPNOS SCANDENS) Perennial, deciduous vine to 10-12’ with ferny foliage decorated all summer into fall with pretty clusters of yellow ‘bleeding heart’ flowers. Rich, moist, well drained soils;  plant roots in shade and let it grow up through a shrub or on a trellis toward the sun.  Climbs by thin tendrils, deer resistant. USDA Z6-9      3” pot
This intriguing climbing bleeding heart has masses of pendulous, yellow, heart-shaped flowers and mid-green, divided leaves. It prefers a shady to a partially shaded position where it can grow into some sun. Will cascade handsomely from pots and containers and makes an unusual feature plant when supported on a trellis or fencing. You can also grow it into shrubs. Blooms mid summer often until frost. Popular with hummingbirds.
A climbing perennial vine with finely dissected delicate fern like foliage. In summer, drooping bunches of gorgeous bright yellow tubular flowers are born in masses. Can climb up to 9-12', likes moist well drained soil and part shade. Quite unusual. Hardy zone 6-9
From Nepal & SE China, this bleeding heart is spectacular. A VINE w/ pale, lemon yellow to white blossoms, shaped much like D. eximia but tinged w/ pink or purple. Zone 5 per Royal Horticulture Society but I think that's probably incorrect. Zone 6 in a warm spot, I think is the cold limit. This stunning plant very much want the illusive Moist But Well-Drained soil. Give her that and she will stun you with blooms and vigor. Compared to D. macrocapnos, the seed pods are more inflated, quicker to set seed and the plant is somewhat smaller.

Cluster of clear canary-yellow 1" bleeding hearts adorn this vigorous vine all Summer and into the Fall. Climbing to 10' by the tendrils it's beautiful on a trellis, or scrambling up through branches of a small tree. Attractive delicate looking divided foliage. Plant where roots will be shaded and let grow into Sun around the Bay. Morning sun around the hotter areas. Rich soil is best.
