Spring ephemeral, clumps of glaucous ferny foliage topped by bright salmon red flowers with purpled inner petals. Will spread and naturalize where happy in well drained soils, sun to part shade, appreciates summer dry when dormant. Nice early season color when planted with deciduous ferns and hostas that emerge later… also nice with Hellebores.
An exquisite spring ephemeral for the shade garden, Corydalis solida emerges in early spring with delicate, green to bluish-green foliage followed by masses of tubular flowers that look like little dragons. 'G.P. Baker' offers deepest pink to near-red flowers. Will go dormant by summer. Plant around late emerging perennials such as hosta.
Wow! Tantalizing salmon-red flowers on 6" stems above blue-green leaves. Its such a welcome color during that spring sea of yellow blooms. Summer dormant. Minimum temperature: -20°F
One of the choice forms of Corydalis solida that you all were clamoring for last spring after seeing it in our shade garden and we had to say no but now we say yea, verily. This is a soft red form and very floriferous. This bulbs increase nicely in a year or two and really put on a show.
