Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Beyond blue, this stunner is more upright than other C. flexuosas and (get ready for this!) does not go summer dormant; critically cobalt flowers emerge in May and bloom through July in the NW. S-PSh/M-W
A species often compared with the more well-known Corydalis flexuosa and its cultivars but with some marked differences once the similarly exquisite true blue flowers are considered. C. elata is taller, later blooming and does not go dormant in summer. It also has a fragrance similar to gardenia mixed with coconut.
Fragrant, electric cobalt blue, spring and summer flowers cluster profusely on plants 2' tall and 16" wide; delicate bright green foliage. Best with summer water or will go dormant when dry. Deer-resistant. Pollinated by bees. Minimum temperature: -20°F
Perhaps the best Corydalis for the south. Fabulously fragrant cobalt blue flowers adorn the upright habit of this garden jewel. This selection does not go summer dormant. Flowers emerge in May and bloom through July. This superior selection does well in moist soils.
