Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Clusters of handsome small black berries with a blue bloom decorate this 10-15' twining vine in fall on a background of bright-dark-green lobed to heart-shaped leaves. S/M
A twining climber with lustrous dark green leaves that are heart-shaped or oval, changing to golden yellow in Fall. In July-August, it has panicles of small creamy flowers which give way to pea-size blue/black berries in 5" clusters like grapes. Prefers a warm sunny spot. Great for growing over arbors, fences, etc which it will cover with a dense mass of shiny greenery. Grows 3-6' per year. Little pruning is required or recommended as the mass of tiny twining stems is hard to separate for pruning. Native to China, Japan and (shown growing in this photo by Forest & Kim Starr) in Hawaii.
