This is one of the most glorious vines one can possibly plant. In spring an avalanche of snowy-white blooms that smell intoxicatingly like honey and almond cover the glossy deep-green evergreen foliage. The flowers of this lovely 20-25' vine flower on last year's growth, so be judicious in your pruning. A stunning selection for fragrant and moonlight gardens. S-PSh/M
Evergreen climber with dark green foliage and 1.5 to 2 inch wide, white flowers in March to April. Star-like, abundant blooms have a strong fragrance. Will only bloom on previous year's growth, so dead and weak stems should be pruned after flowering, generally in early summer. Also, any excessive growth outside of its allocated space can be pruned at this time. Growth Rate fast
One of the most sought after clematis and rightly so. Masses of deliciously fragrant white flowers grace this vine each spring. Glossy, dark green leaves provide a great backdrop. Can find a home on a trellis, pergola, or along a fence line. Ours are staked to 3 feet though all have numerous leaders stretching out further than that. Filtered to full sun in well-drained soil.
Jackman, England. Clematis armandii Snowdrift is a vigorous evergreen climber with pure white 3 inch flowers in early to late spring. It's also an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. This is best grown in a sheltered location in its colder range to protect the evergreen foliage from damage. Small Flowered Clematis. This is a Group 1 (A) Clematis, which means it flowers in spring on buds from last year's growth. They actually don't need to be pruned but if you wish to trim or direct them the best time to prune is just after flowering. Trimming encourages branching and vigorous new growth. If pruned late in the season or before flowering in spring the plant will not be harmed, but spring bloom will be affected. Remove dead or damaged branches any time.
With large, glossy, leathery leaves, this would be a beautiful plant even without its pure white, fragrant flowers. This vigorous climber sells out every year.
