Nursery contributed plant descriptions

With dark purple wide open "bells" and silvery highlights, this is a non-vining, woody-stemmed perennial that reaches 6'. So weave its decumbent form into an obliging neighboring shrub to help support it, and people will wonder which plant is producing those exquisite blooms: flowering late May to mid-August, composed of four to six slightly twisted tepals 3 to 4 inches across when fully open. The seed heads are as attractive: silvery, furry puffs.Minimum temperature: -20°F
Petit Faucon' is a more reserved member of this collection with intense deep blue, twisted tepals that reveal an orange-yellow boss of stamens. It also sports bronze-green foliage. The Evison Hybrid clematis are a new collection of superior clematis cultivars with long bloom periods, excellent disease resistance, and bold colours. Use them on trellises and pergolas, grow them into shrubs, or use them as groundcovers.
Petit Faucon is an extraordinary plant with a compact habit and unusual flowers. The buds open to twisting petals that reveal bright orange-yellow stamens inside deep purple. They then mature to rich blue around creamy stamens. The fluffy white seedheads are beautiful, too! Herbaceous Type. Evison, England, 1989.
Not all Clematis are vines. This little beauty grows just 3' tall & is best treated like a perennial. Its nodding, 3" flowers, which appear in profusion in mid- to late summer, have narrow, twisted petals of deep blue, revealing a center of creamy stamens. Use as a companion for repeat-blooming Roses. PBR reg. #11013, asexual propagation prohibited. This is really a SUPERB SHRUB!
