Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Pendulous clusters of pale-green papery seed and toothed leaves which taper to a long slender point make this small-medium (30-50') tree an unusual and attractive addition to yard or hedge. S/M
This stellar medium-sized Hornbeam promises to delight all year round. Hallmarking spring and summer, a winsome bevy of small, oval-shaped dark green serrated foliage sport prominent veins, soft yellow-green undersides and slender pointed tips. Long, pendent, bright green and red-tinged fruiting keys accompanied by cozy yellow and red foliage make attractive autumn features, while winter showcases pendulous branches and smooth pale patterned bark. A rarely offered Japanese native introduced in 1914, the versatile Carpinus laxiflora can be grown as a landscape specimen or serves as an ideal bonsai candidate. 10' in 10 years. Large Band.
A most handsome tree with drooping branches and long hop-like fruits. Quite striking bark patterns on trees older than 6-7 yrs. One of our personal favorites, and almost never offered due to scarcity of true-to-type seed. Makes a terrific bonsai subject with excellent branch structure.
Quite scarce in cultivation, this handsome Hornbeam is a lovely small tree, to 30', yet lends itself to bonsai cultivation. It has small oval green serrated leaves and long drooping keys tinted red. Fall color ranges from warm oranges to reds. Striped patterns on its bark adds winter interest. LARGER PLANTS FOR ONSITE NURSERY SALES.
Serrated small oval leaves that have impressed veins and a long taper make a highly textural tree. Long, red-tinged green catkins and yellow and red fall foliage lengthen the season of interest and make it a rare and exciting bonsai candidate. It even has handsome bark with age - wish that were the case with all of us. From Japan;
