A little know leguminous shrub with dense, 3" long purple racemes which appear in mid to late summer. Native to Korea and China, it's a bit reminiscent of Lespedeza. Typical 'Legume' like foliage. Virtually unheard of in this country. Very, very rare in the trade.

Chinese Pea Shrub grows 5' tall and wide with rounded foliage that turns olive green and gold in fall. Purple flower clusters in late summer. Prune hard in spring. Nice.
This unusual shrub is a member of the pea family and will get 4'-5' tall. This native of Korea and China will have pink-purple flowers in summer. The rounded leaves have an attractive purple blush during spring and summer. Hardy and easy to grow in well drained soil in full sun.
