Small and compact evergreen bottlebrush, to 5 ft tall x 6 ft wide, this from cuttings of a specimen in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Arching branches carry small, glossy leaves and, in mid summer, soft, greenish yellow, "bottlebrush" flowers. Best in a hot, sunny position, well-drained with occasional summer water. Easily frost hardy to 10F, USDA zone 8, and very likely into zone 7 in optimum conditions.
Callistemon viridiflorus, commonly called Green Bottlebrush, is an unusual shrub with an arching habit that displays chartreuse-colored, bottlebrush flowers. The small diamond shaped, evergreen leaves are soft to the touch. Cold hardy form. Ideal for the back of the border or as a colorful accent. Best in average soil with regular water. Tolerates severe pruning once established.
This very unusual bottlebrush produces masses of the loveliest chartreuse blooms imaginable. The four inch long bottlebrushes just glow in summer with a soft-green light. Perhaps the hardiest of the bottlebrushes, this species hails from the moist, well-drained soils along Tasmanian watercourses. This shrub reaches 5-8' and has small, glossy, deep-green leaves that turn bronzy-purple in winter. Tolerates dry conditions and deer with ease; in a protected site this shrub has been known to survive 0° winter temperatures. S/M-D
This compact shrub has an arching habit with sharply pointed, dark green leaves. Yellow-green flowers are borne in dense spikes to 3" long. Grows 5' tall and 6' wide.

A cold hardy Bottlebrush that gets to be a large shrub with lots of chartreuse yellow vivacious flowers in May and June. This has a willowy texture with the foliage taking on maroon tints in winter and with age gets great white corky bark. Will take dry but better with water. Deer hate it.
Upright evergreen shrub to 8', cream/green flowers, small leaves, beautiful buds/branches. From the windswept heaths of Tasmania (sounds dramatic doesn't it?) comes this outstanding bottlebrush species with many ornamental virtues: a generous show of creamy brushes in spring, a strongly upright growth habit, soft felty new growth produced from conspicuous cone-like branch buds, and peeling white bark. It adapts well to cultivation even in hot climates, and can be grown on wet or dry soil, though it does require sun. One Seattle gardener has made it into a spectacular hedge! In addition it is extremely cold-hardy, easily withstanding 5-10 °F.
Green Bottlebrush grows to 5-6' tall and wide and has showy greenish-yellow blooms in early summer.
