Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Brunnera 'King's Ransom' is a sport of the renowned 'Jack Frost'. 'King's Ransom' offers the vigour and beautiful silver foliage of its predecessor but also boasts a gold edge around each leaf setting off the forget-me-not-like blue flowers like never before.
A recent introduction of Brunnera (Siberian Bugloss) similar to 'Jack Frost', but the variegation is a warm cream rather than a cool white. Myriads of sky blue flowers adorn 12" stems just above the mounding foliage in early May. Brunnera prefer a soil that is well drained but that gets even moisture during the growing season. Cut back after flowering to encourage a fresh flush of foliage.
'King's Ransom' displays a wide, creamy yellow margin and light cream frosting over the remainder of the silver leaves. After the dainty blue forget-me-not type flowers are produced in spring, the margins lighten to creamy white. This plant has a slightly smaller habit than 'Jack Frost', making it just the right size to tuck into combination containers. PPAF

Silver leaves with green veins and cream-gold edges make a painterly mix on 10"-12" tall plants. This one is a sport of Brunnera 'Jack Frost' and is more heat-tolerant than other variegated Brunnera. Tiny blue flowers reminiscent of forget-me-nots dance above this spreading ground cover.
