Large deep-velvet-purple foliage combined with a larger (to 5') upright arching habit make this shrub perfect for barrier hedge or accent. S/M
Beautiful variety of Barberry sporting very dark purple, velvety leaves. Nice upright, arching habit. Will provide amazing fall color - as you would expect from a Barberry - in addition to red berries in winter.
Not for the small garden, this deciduous barberry has purple and red rounded foliage that shows off its orange-yellow spring flowers. The form is mounding but the branches are distinct and somewhat arching - a more graceful form than many Berberis.
A large back of the border plant with rich large purple leaves. This fast grower looks like a cotinus but it does have thorns. A real focal point to plant other shrubs and perennials in the front.
The striking, dark Cabernet foliage recommends this deciduous shrub for a prominent spot in the sophisticated garden. Growing to 6' with an equal spread, the spiny branches of this hardy shrub make a handsome silhouette, particularly when sprinkled with pale yellow flowers in spring or bright red berries in the fall. Plant in full sun or part shade and provide moderate water in a well-drained soil. Hardy to 0 °F. Japan.
