These are seedlings of 'JC Raulston' which has large purple-blue "pea" flowers atop dusky purple 3' stems in early summer. Amazing blackish new growth in spring looks like emerging asparagus in a clump! Ornamental black seed pods develop in late summer. Tough and beautiful. Remember, children do not always resemble their parents, and sometimes they even turn out better.
