Astrantia major 'Alba' is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with green foliage. In spring and summer white flowers emerge. Attracts bees and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and even moisture - regular water. Drought tolerant once established. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average, clay, rich and well-drained soil.

Green-tipped white bracts (the ruffed collar), and pink and white center pin cushions will sparkle in the shade garden. It colonizes but uses good manners. And it will even survive periods of dry shade in late summer, too!
