Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This so-called "grass aloe" has long arched leaves, still succulent but less so than its close relatives. The bright green, white-spotted foliage arches on stems to about 10" tall and quickly spreads, forming clumps of 4-6 stems, eventually spreading to 2' wide when happy. Flowers are bright, bright, orange with green tips and stand to 18" tall above the foliage. This is a vigorous and long blooming plant. Drought tolerant requiring little summer water. These are tough and frost hardy to 20 °F, perhaps a bit below, USDA zone 9. An excellent pot plant requiring winter protection where temperatures hover below freezing or drop into the teens.
Bright orange, pendulous tubes, each yellow on the inside and fringed in green, compose densely arranged, flashy-looking racemes perched on erect, one foot tall stems nearly all year long. With tiny white teeth and irregular light speckles, the narrow, bright green tapered leaves arch up and out, sculpting a dense, matlike ground cover. This diminutive South African Aloe can withstand cool winter temperatures and musters alluring contrast when sited amid Euphorbia 'Blue Haze' in the rockery.
Choice small aloe of uncertain parentage from South Africa…spreading clumps 8-10" tall of long arching, pointed leaves, bright green with white spots and edged with tiny white teeth. Flowers March to November on one foot stems are bright coral orange with green tips and yellow inners, striking! Easy to grow, hardy to 15-20 °F…sun to light shade, well drained soil, occasional irrigation. Nice ground cover, fire resistant and excellent in containers.
Tender perennial with bright orange 2' flower spikes from summer to fall. Effective and happy in a container.
