Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The fragrant, saucer-shaped, white flowers of this attractive 20-30' vine have clusters of thin stamens just covered in golden-yellow pollen. Hardy kiwi vines are male and female and the male is required to pollinate the named female arguta cultivars. One male plant can pollinate about 8 females. These lush, beautiful vines are excellent for quick cover and add a tropical feel to the landscape. S/M
This is the male pollinating kiwi specifically meant for all A. arguta kiwi varieties. This plant will not set fruit itself but will pollinate female varieties and allow them to produce fruit. Generally, plant one male plant for up to eight female plants in an orchard, or plant one male with 1-3 female plants.

The male arguta will also pollinate Chinese and Delicious kiwi varieties in the species Actinidia chinensis or Actinidia deliciosa, but you will see greater yields pollinating with males of the same species. The male arguta will not pollinate Actinidia kolomikta kiwi plants, however.

Use this male variety to pollinate female fruiting vines such as Anna's Pineapple Hardy Kiwi.
There is no need for monogamous relationships in kiwis. One male kiwi plant can pollinate numerous females. Use 'Hardy Male' to pollinate female varieties of Actinidia arguta. Though male plants do not produce fruit they do produce attractive woody vines and fragrant greenish white flowers with black stamens.
Long bloom period, excellent pollinator, vigorous, ornamental vine.
This species of hardy and vigorous vines can produce great quantities of fruit. Mature plants will produce 100 pounds of sweet, small, smooth skinned fruit. These fruit can be eaten as you would eat grapes, without peeling. All varieties require a male pollinator, except as otherwise noted. Ripens in mid to late September.
