Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Very dissected large, lobed leaves surround proud three-foot spikes of ivory flowers tinged with light green-cooler colors to contrast with warmer ones. This one is slower to increase than its relatives but oh so worth it and long-lived to boot. Plant in a good facsimile of the moist woodland with dappled shade and you'll get blooms from late spring to early summer, reblooming if deadheaded. And they bring the humble bumble bee! (Aconitums are highly poisonous and not for gardens with children.) Minimum temperature: -20 °F
