This is an excellent choice for home landscapes or parks! This very cold hardy small tree, to 20-35' tall is a male selection (no messy seeds to sweep up) with incredible, fluorescent red fall color and a neat, oval habit. This US National Arboretum selection is much recommended as a lawn or street tree; it tolerates wet soil and pollution. S/M-W
Deciduous, symmetrically oval crown at maturity. Rich green foliage turns orange-red to bright red in the fall. It is usually one of the last red maples to show fall color, just before 'October Glory', but is well worth the wait. One of the faster growing upright maples, as well as tolerant of summer heat. This is a male variety, so no fruit is produced from the red flowers in spring. Growth Rate fast, 12"+ annually
Selected by the national Arb 'Sun Valley is a cross between Acer rubrum Red Sunset and Acer rubrum Autumn Flame, it is tolerant of wet soils and has exceptionaly long lasting red fall color. It is also genetically leafhopper resistant and hardy to at least zone 4.
Selected for its stunning fall color display this red maple hasn't disappointed us. Works well for a shade tree getting to 35' tall.
