Orange Dream Japanese Maple emerges in spring with lemony-yellow leaves with outlines of orange. In summer, turning to more yellow-green leaves which gives a stunning impression on the landscape. It has a fall color of orange and crimson. If you like a bright chartreuse green colored leaf, Orange Dream Japanese Maple is the tree for you.
A show-stopper in spring when its 7-lobed leaves emerge ORANGE, this 6-12 footer turns next to lemon-yellow, which color it holds well into summer; late summer color is yellow-green turning gold; container or garden in shade. PSh/M
Spring leaves are yellow-orange with red margins. Leaves retain the bright colors, changing to yellow-green with some orange margins in the summer. Fall color is yellow.
‘Orange Dream’ was introduced in the 1980s by a nursery in Milan Italy. One of our favorites. Spring growth displays colorful lemon-yellow leaves edged in orange. Late summer the leaves are more of a yellow-green turning to yellow gold, orange and crimson in the fall. This maple provides 6 months of outstanding color from April through October – if you have room for only one maple, with the right sun conditions, this one should be a contender. Orange Dream is a moderate growing maple that may reach 15′ tall and 8′ wide 10 years. The light yellow-green and orange coloration requires some shade from the hot afternoon sun to prevent burning the leaves. Another collector’s choice for maple enthusiasts. Once established hardy to -10 degrees – USDA zone 6. When I started growing Japanese Maples 30+ years ago I visualized various cultivars planted in and around the large Douglas Fir trees and even larger native Oak trees that live on our 13 acres. I try and find the best location for each maple to enhance ‘Mother Nature’ and the splendid property we call home. This Orange Dream is happy where it now lives.

The leaves emerge from the buds with a bright orange flush, then rapidly turn more yellowish green with orange margins. Similar to 'Katsura', but the leaves emerge later avoiding early frosts. In fall the green leaves turn to brilliant yellow and gold colors. Introduced in the 1980's from Italy.

Spring yellow leaves with orange margins, turn yellow- green summer, Fall is bright gold. Zones 6-9
Think 'Katsura' only better; or at least that is the word on the street; the largest ones I have seen are in my two gallon smart pots so I haven't seen what they look like as large trees or even out in the sun, but I have noticed that they are sturdier and more vigorous than Katsura which are good things. The leaves also seem to have more red in them than Katsura, but I will have to see the shining halo in the afternoon sun all summer and fall to say it is as good as Katsura. This photo is from Michael Healy.
This small to medium sized Japanese Maple (ultimately 8-12') has 7 lobed leaves which emerge a lovely orange color. The leaves age to a yellow green finally turning to an amber gold in fall. 4-5' plants for fall shipping.
