Vaccinium moupinense is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In summer white flowers emerge followed by black fruit. Features glossy texture. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and even moisture water. Does well in acidic, rich and well-drained soil.
This specimen makes a pleasing evergreen for the unusual edible landscape. Leathery, glossy foliage is bright-red in cool weather deepening to dark-green in summer. This neat dwarf makes a dense 1-2' mound that looks great massed or in containers. The mahogany-red, urn-shaped, spring flowers become edible dark-purple berries in summer. We love this interesting find from the Sichuan region of China. S/M
