Compact and columnar (7't x 3'; 3't x 1' in 10 years) with dense dark-green tinted gold needles, this slow-growing beauty is thought to be one of the best small golden yews for the garden. S-PSh/M/GDr (not dry)
Bright golden foliage is most noticeable in areas where the plant was exposed to the sun. Forms a narrow pillar with age.
Standishii' is a narrow, columnar, yellow-needled, female form that typically matures over time to 7' tall with a 3' spread. Foliage retains yellow color throughout the year. Red arils, sometime abundant on this cultivar, contrast well with the foliage.
A form of English yew known for its slow growth and bright yellow color. Considered mature at 6-8 feet though will grow taller over time. Best color is in full sun as it will lose some of its brightness in shadier plantings.
