This wonderful and easy-to-grow groundcover is named after the former director of the US National Arboretum, the late John Creech. Dr. Creech discovered the plant in the Siberian Academ Gorodok Gardens in 1971. Finally in 2001, UK sedum authority Ray Stephenson positively identified it as Sedum spurium. This is not just any Sedum spurium, but a rare, small-foliaged, pink-flowered form. The small, scalloped green leaves of this weed-smothering groundcover are topped with pink flowers in the fall. We think you'll really enjoy this durable plant.

Thanks to Dr. John Creech, the former director of the U.S. National Arboretum, this cute, yet durable, little Sedum found its way into our country from a Siberian Botanical Garden. A showy late blooming flourish of rose pink flowers festoons the small, round scalloped green leaves, which knit a tightset, low spreading, lush and succulent cover. Weed smothering, energetic and hardy, 'John Creech' is unfazed by light shade and is excellent for edging a pathway, creating a green roof and softening stonewalls or containers.

Excellent creeping sedum that forms a tight mat as it spreads. Bright green stems root at every node, turning burgundy in the fall. Foliage grows much closer together than other spuriums, making it a delight to have in pathways, patios and rock gardens.

Neat looking, low and tight ground cover forms a 2" dense carpet of stems wrapped in pretty, scalloped bright green leaves…non invasive, durable choice for small scale cover (plant about 12" apart) for sunny to lightly shaded sites. Prefers soils with decent drainage but can be coaxed to grow in heavier soils if you water sparingly. Eye catching, rose pink flowers in late summer dance above the leaves! Low maintenance, easy!
