Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This is an extremely attractive conifer! Luxurious jade-green needles are faintly twisted on spreading, upright, branches that radiate out from the center. Scaly brownish- gray bark adds a nice contrast to the bright green. Its easy-going temperament and smaller size (10-20') makes it a natural for urban gardens. Handsome open branching does not cast dense shade; tolerant of drought, salt spray and a variety of soil types. S/M-D
Founded in Oregon, this evergreen conifer displays unique, white candles in spring. An excellent specimen, providing four season interest in the landscape. Growth Rate slow
Pinus nigra 'Black Prince' - Deep Green Austrian Pine needles densely spaced and curved against the branches and persist for many years giving the branches the appearance of large pipe cleaners. The unique, more open form creates a striking specimen, sculptures nicely or can be bonsai trained. Evergreen Conifer.
A classic landscape plant the needles are deep green and rather short for nigra, and are very persistent creating a full dense plant, especially if sheared a bit while young.
Dark green needles, bright white candles spring. Deer resistant, tolerates wind & cold. Zones 5-8.
Slow growing Austrian Black Pine, mature size 8'x 6'. Plant has dark green stiff needles, more numerous than the species
