Nursery contributed plant descriptions

To 20' with showy and wonderfully fragrant 8-12" creamy-white flowers in early summer, this impressive tree (from our SE states) has also proven to be amazingly hardy, perhaps most so in this variety selected in Vancouver B.C. S/M
This selection of M. grandiflora was named in Portland. Our plant has survived (thrived through -12 degrees F and 2'of flood water during its life. Our plant is 30x30' and was planted in 1964 or 65. The white flowers are smaller than some of the selections, but are lovely white from June-October.
Large white cup-shaped, fragrant flowers summer. Shiny leaves with rusty brown undersides. Zones 7-9.
Not quite as hardy as 'Edith Bogue' but hardier than most other cultivars in the trade. It has fragrant white flowers, and the underside of the evergreen foliage is lined with indumentum. Dense habit. Selected in Victoria, British Columbia.
